About The Lithuanian Masters Athletics Association (LLAMA)

The Lithuanian Masters Athletics Association (LLAMA) is a non-profit organization founded to promote and develop masters athletics in Lithuania. We unite athletics enthusiasts for whom sport remains a way of life, regardless of age.

Masters sport is the elixir of youth — it restores strength, brings joy, and fills life with meaning. With age and accumulated experience, the competitive spirit remains strong. In every athlete’s heart burns the determination to overcome not only their opponents, but also themselves. Masters athletes never give up — even after falling, they rise again and continue pursuing their goals.

No matter how heated the emotions on the track or in the throwing sectors, once the competition ends, everyone becomes friends — united by common goals and a shared passion for sport.

The masters movement is a global phenomenon that brings together thousands of athletes, opening doors to continental and world championship arenas. The enthusiasm and hard work of the participants are often rewarded with impressive results in every age group, as well as new national, continental, and world records.

I sincerely believe that the association will proudly and successfully represent Lithuania on the international stage, becoming a central hub that unites all masters track and field athletes and enthusiasts of the sport, while also serving as a major attraction for athletes taking their first steps in the masters category.

Sport has been part of my life since childhood — it is the driving force behind everything I do. Sport has shaped me as a person: someone who never gives up and always pursues their goals. It not only strengthens the body, but also increases motivation, builds discipline, expands social connections, and nurtures a strong sense of community.

I wish everyone success, endurance, and strength. Let our ranks grow, the Lithuanian flag rise, and the Lithuanian anthem play.

We finally managed to realise our dream – the master’s association has been established!
And although various associations in our neighbouring countries have been operating for more than twenty years, we will do our best to keep up with them.
